Our Story

Taluca Park came about after we both decided to leave our Sydney lifestyles, a personal trainer and builder, to pursue our growing hobby of farming into a newfound lifestyle. Our parents both had farms, so farming was second nature. 

Our journey began with 30 chickens, 2 breeding sows, a boar, and cattle. 

After moving onto Franks parent's farm to test our methods of farming we decided this lifestyle was for us and our young family. 

Not long after we found our beautiful property that we now call Taluca Park and which is our home and our business. We are now living our dream raising over 400 pigs a year, 5000 egg layers, cattle, Jersey milking cows, goats, alpacas, and a very beautiful team of Maremma working dogs. We pride ourselves in transparent farming. Doing what we say, “Girls on Grass” “Pigs on Pasture”. This all part of how we run our farm. 

Having done Demeter biodynamic courses, holistic management courses and rotational grazing plans, we run our farm chemical free, where the animals live a stress free, happy lifestyle enjoying the sunlight all whiles regenerating the land and in return producing some amazing produce.

Taluca Park Free Range

South Coast, NSW

Taluca Park is located in Exeter, in the Southern Highlands of NSW. They raise free range Berkshire pigs on their picturesque family farm.

A beautiful regenerative farm in Wombeyan Caves NSW, our regenerative program closely mimics Joel Salatin and his multi-species stacked system. The simple idea of viewing animals in nature and applying these principles in a commercial setting. We have achieved this by creating ecosystems with multiple species of animals, plants and insects choreographed with aggressive rotation and rest. 

In our case cows (Blue Angus) offer a mowing service as well as fertiliser. Chickens (Bresse) follow cows eating fly larvae reducing pathogen problems as they spread out cow fertility as well as adding nitrogen-rich manure. Pigs (Wessex Saddleback and Tokyo X) to create disturbance where it's needed to eradicate weeds or weaken poor quality pasture. 
Ducks (Peking x Aylesbury) are the main fertility with a beautiful moist fertiliser that soaked into the soil effectively. Quail (Japanese) although they are small are amazing ranging birds that are always hunting insects as well as adding huge amounts of manure on the pasture. Dogs (Maremma) none of this would work without our 9 beautiful Maremmas that protect everything with a predator-free zone.

Because the animals are essentially doing all the work we can operate with very small inputs whether it be electrical or petroleum energy, or feed inputs because the animals are supplementing so much of their diet with grass. 

All this has been achieved in 5 years with no drenching, worming, B12, Immunizations, Antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides, or glyphosate.

We love to share our place, offering unique accommodation in an idyllic Australian setting.

Our farm produce, including butter, cream, pork, bacon, ham, and veal all come from our pasture-raised animals that are treated with the utmost respect.

We are a family-owned butchery, smokehouse and charcuterie maker near Margaret River, in Western Australia’s South West.

We farm and source high quality Western Australian meat from free-range and grass-fed animals of traditional breeds to prepare fresh cuts, charcuterie and sausages in the traditional style. Our Charcuterie products are handmade to our recipes, from herbs and spices all freshly ground in house. We use a traditional smoking technique with shavings from local fruit trees, such as apple - this imparts a subtle, sweet, smokey flavour and aroma. All ingredients used to cure or flavour our products have no artificial, colourings or flavours.

The Farm House’s Big Red pigs are raised by Proprietor David Hohnen on his stunning property, south of Witchcliffe in the Margaret River region. They are a composite breed, which began with a Tamworth sow named ‘Big Red’. The Big Red Pigs are known for their hardiness, good temperament, thick winter coat, and succulent meat. The pigs have a natural diet, feeding on grasses, roots and grubs; we also feed them freshly ground legumes and grains - all of which results in a dark red colour to their meat.

The Farm House is dedicated to maintaining traditional farming and butchery techniques which provide unique, pork products of the highest quality.

The Farm House Margaret River - Big Red Pastured Pork

Located in Western Australia’s South West Region, The Farm House Margaret River is a family-owned butchery, smokehouse, and charcuterie maker.

The Prawn Store is operated from  Port Lincoln in  South Australia by the Tapley family, who have over 40 years experience in the fishing industry. Their passion to practice sustainable fishing methods and deliver quality produce to consumers is paramount for them and their business. 

The Prawn Store is proud to be one of 39 Licence holders in The Spencer Gulf King Prawn Association, which has  Marine Stewardship Certification. 

The flavour and quality of the prawns sold by The Prawn Store is a reflection of the pristine, cold waters of the Spencer Gulf, as well as the fact they are wild caught and certified sustainable. 

The family operated business sells directly to consumers through pop-up stores and farmers’ markets, as well as wholesale distribution.
They sell cooked or uncooked products in various sizes and offer cooking instructions and complimentary recipe cards with each purchase.

Their Absolute Kings are snap frozen on the boat then carefully packaged in royal blue 1kg or 5kg boxes - ready to enjoy in the convenience of your home,or given as a gift.

The Prawn Store has been operating since March 2020 and has been named as a Finalist in the Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards.

The Prawn Store is a 100% South Australian family owned and operated business, selling premium Spencer Gulf King Prawns branded as ‘Absolute Kings’.

This Is Us all began as a simple mission: a desire to facilitate farm to kitchen dining experiences, in an era where we’re enjoying dining at home more than ever. 

The range of gourmet retail products currently comprises of handmade sourdough Crumpets and sourdough English Muffins produced using single-origin flour from northern NSW.

Our ranges are constantly evolving, and ever-expanding, but no matter the range, all of our products are carefully created, thoughtfully prepared, and meticulously crafted.

This Is Us is a space for culinary collaboration. We offer a series of retail ranges and food services available across boutique grocery chains, independent stockists, cafes, and resturants in QLD and NSW.
